About Trinity Church Westminster
We are a new church being planted in the heart of Westminster, launching on 13 September 2026, with a simple conviction: that the same gospel which has sustained Christ's church for two thousand years is exactly what this city needs today.

Our vision
Our vision is Christian maximalism for the glory of God, in Westminster. We want to live maximally Christian lives: applying all of the Bible to every area of life, unashamedly proclaiming Christ, and drawing on the best of our historic church practice as we meet together.
We believe there is a great opportunity to reach and serve Londoners who are looking for robust, Bible-believing theology in a church that feels historically connected, whether you live and work in Westminster or can simply travel in to join us.
What we believe
Trinity Church Westminster is a Reformed evangelical church coming from within the Anglican tradition. We stand in the historic formularies of Anglicanism, the Jerusalem Declaration and the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, and we affirm the definition of doctrine set out in Canon A5 of the Church of England, applied to our context: that the doctrine of Trinity Church Westminster "is grounded in the Holy Scriptures, and in such teachings of the ancient Fathers and Councils of the Church as are agreeable to the said Scriptures."
In brief, we believe:
- The Bible is God's word written: fully trustworthy, sufficient, and our final authority in all matters of faith and life.
- One God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who created all things and made us to know him.
- Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, who lived a perfect life, died in the place of sinners, rose bodily from the dead, and will return as judge and king.
- Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, not by anything we do, but by what he has done.
- The local church as God's gathered people, devoted to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer.

Who we are
Having been sent out by St Helen’s Bishopsgate, our Founding Pastor is Luke Cornelius, who will be overseen by an ASO (Alternative Spiritual Overseer), Vaughan Roberts (St Ebbe’s Church).
The formal legal responsibility for the church lies with our trustees: the Senior Pastor, Julian Bertie and Tom James (our Church Wardens), and Oliver Johnston (external trustee).
We are also supported by Kev Murdoch (Euston Church), who acts as a church-planting mentor to our launch team, and by a council of reference who give us informal advice in these early stages: Robin Sydserff (The Proclamation Trust), Charlie Skrine (All Souls, Langham Place) and Andrew Atherstone (Wycliffe Hall).
Luke Cornelius
Luke grew up in Beaconsfield, halfway between Oxford and London, and has spent his adult life between the two. After seven years at St Ebbe's Church as a theology student, study assistant and ordinand, he was ordained in 2019 and spent seven years serving at St Helen's Church, Bishopsgate, before helping to plant Trinity Westminster. Luke is married to Abigail; they have two children and are expecting a third in October.
Jules and Poppy
Jules is one of our Church Wardens. Poppy teaches in west London and Jules works in finance. We've lived in London for seven years and been married for three. We're really excited to be part of Trinity Westminster: another church in London speaking of and living for the Lord Jesus is a great thing. We're looking forward to all the ups and downs of being part of a plant. Outside of work and church you'll hopefully find us outdoors, playing sport, or with friends and family.
Tom and Eloise
Tom is one of our Church Wardens and Eloise is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. We've lived in London for about seven years and been married for six of them; we work in tech and in law, in the City of London. In our free time we like doing sports and being outdoors, ideally on the water or in the mountains. We're really looking forward to being part of a smaller church at Trinity Westminster, and we're excited about reaching people who live and work around Westminster with the good news about Jesus.
